Drone Repair Service in NYC: Common Problems We Fix
At Quick Fix, our drone repair service starts with a diagnostic, so you know what is broken before you pay for a part. Here are some of the common problems we address:
- Crash damage: cracked arms, broken propellers, shell and landing gear
- Motor failure: a motor that will not spin, grinds or shows an overload warning
- Camera issues: no image, blurry video or a cracked lens
- Gimbal malfunctions: shaking, drifting or a gimbal error after a crash
- Battery problems
- Connectivity issues between the drone and the remote controller
- Firmware updates that failed or left the drone stuck
- Flight controller errors
- FPV system failure
After a crash, the damage is often in more than one place: a bent arm can also pinch the motor cable, and a hit on the camera can tear the gimbal ribbon cable. We check every part before we quote. For details, see our pages on drone motor repair, drone gimbal repair and drone camera repair. We specialize in the following types of troubleshooting:
DJI Drone Repair

We repair drones manufactured by DJI only and mainly address issues such as motor failures, gimbal malfunctions, software glitches, etc. Model-specific repairs are on our DJI drone repair page.
DJI FPV Drone Repair
We also repair DJI FPV (First Person View) drones. After an FPV crash, we check the flight controller, the FPV camera and the video transmitter along with the frame.
Firmware and Calibration
A failed firmware update can leave a drone that will not connect or take off. We reinstall the firmware and calibrate the drone (compass, IMU, gimbal) as the repair requires, so it is ready to fly again. If your drone went into water, read our drone water damage repair page first and do not charge or power it on.
Why Bring Your Drone to Quick Fix
Quick Fix has 15+ years in this business, and our technicians explain the repair and the parts options before work begins. You get a quote after the diagnostic and can ask every question at the counter before you decide. We are open six days a week. See all our services on the drone repair in NYC page.
How It Works at Our Midtown Store
- Bring the drone, its flight batteries and the remote controller to 347 Fifth Ave, 15th Floor, Suite 1502, or mail it in. Tell us how the crash happened and what the app showed.
- We inspect the drone and run the $99 diagnostic. The diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair.
- You get a quote with the parts and the timing. If a part has to be ordered, the quote says so.
- After you approve, we repair the drone, update the firmware if needed, calibrate it and test it. Most repairs have a 30-day limited warranty.
Drone Repair Cost and Repair Time
At Quick Fix, there is no flat price for drone repair. DJI drone repair costs usually vary depending on the model, the nature of the repair, the part and its availability. The quote comes after the diagnostic, and nothing is repaired until you approve it. A drone repair usually takes 2–4 weeks, depending on whether the part is in stock in the US or has to be ordered.
